My New Drug

Free jazz is the coolest, most expressive form of music I have ever experienced. Nothing can take you to farther while staying in the same place. (Except maybe a heavy narcotic.) Lexington Action Arts Collective is an amazing program that brings some of the best talent from cities with an enormous arts scene like Chicago to play in our little town. The amazing thing is that these people are some the most approachable musicians I have ever met. Totally down to earth, don't charge out the ass for their shows, they just want to get their music out there. It is very comforting to know there are still good people out there in this huge mess that we call "normal life."

Speaking of normal life, they passed the Patriot Act again. I think I am going to go drown myself in Freedom Fries.

J.K. Rowling is Hot

Not only is she beautiful, but she has an amazing imagination that I find extremely attractive. Her prose just sucks me in like a feeble little schoolboy that wants nothing more than a little nap time if you know what I'm sayin'. Ma ma. Needless to say her new book was most of my weekend.

Aaarrrgh...enough of that. That evil little man that follows the president is going to get away with putting a CIA agent in danger for political reasons. What a cock smoke. I friggin hate this country. I am so tired of our craptastic attitude.

Aaaarrrgh...think positive. I went to the Bluegrass Fair this weekend, and while I did not ride any of the rides I had an absolutely great time. I ate corn dogs, funnel cakes, and watched the mexicans and rednecks fight hard to be the "coolest" people in the joint. It was a blast. I also ran into someone I knew a little bit, Anna knew better, and he told me he went to jail for six years down in Florida. That is messed up. First of all I knew someone working at the fair, and second of all I knew someone who served a significant prison sentence. It definetely made me think about my current activities that could get me put into federal-pound-me-in-the-ass-and-give-me-AIDS prison, and I was not happy. I need to clean up my life.

Add the Right Spice at the Right Time

Sometimes it is nice to be at work on holidays. You can actually get something done without all that work stuff getting in your way.

I got my media center PC running this weekend, and I am truly happy with it. I am using GB-PVR. It is basically like mythtv, but easy to setup and a little more stable. It works pretty well and the remote that came with my PVR card works fantastically. I also found the phone I want.

My sister has been in town this weekend and talking to her made me want to leave this town sooner than later. She told me how much she loves having anonymity when she goes out. We all went to the patriotic music concert at Transy last night and we were talking about how we always see someone we know when we go out. It is kind of annoying at times. I actually went on a date once to Spuds, a small sports bar on the other side of town, just to have some privacy with my date, and a group of people I knew came in. I'm not tooting my own horn here, but the girl I was with was rather attractive and all of the people I knew would not leave us alone. It's shit like that that can ruin a town like this. My mom and my aunt and uncles have all lived here for a long time and I don't see how they stand it. I think most of them went to college outside of Lexington which helps I guess.

I think if I keep talikng all this shit I'll eventually leave.
